A. Jägala Waterfall: I highly recommend visiting Jägala Waterfall, Estonia’s highest natural waterfall, on a relaxing half-day tour from Tallinn. It is located just 30 minutes from the city, this beautiful site offers impressive views year-round. In winter, freezing temperatures often turn the waterfall into a glittering ice wall with long icicles. In warmer months, you can enjoy the whole flow of the falls and the scenic limestone cliffs surrounding the river. B. Coastal Cliffs, Peter the Great’s Naval Fortress, Keila Waterfall and Rummu Submerged Quarry: These locations are definitely an astonishing sight and makes your experience of Estonia more fulfilling. Again, I recommend a day guided tour which I took starting with a light hike along the forested coastline not far from Tallinn and visiting an abandoned naval fortress which is tucked away in the forest, where it is still possible to explore the dark underground tunnels and the massive concrete structures above the ground. From there the tour continued to the Keila Waterfall, located in a peaceful manor park with charming bridges and walking paths. Drive through the mostly Russian-speaking city of Paldiski, getting a feel of its industrial Soviet-era neighborhoods. A break for lunch at a local restaurant is then provided, during which you can order Estonian food for lunch. Continuing the tour to the Pakri coastal cliffs where you can observe the red lighthouse looking over the vast Baltic Sea. For the final stop on your tour, drive to the Rummu submerged quarry.
